Top Actors Team Up For Animal Poaching Films
Leonardo DiCaprio is set to team up with fellow actors Tom Hardy and Tobey Maguire on two new Warner Bros. films it has been revealed.
The three Hollywood actors are working together on two separate film projects, alongside Warner Bros. The first will look at the world of animal poaching, whilst the other will uncover the world of animal trafficking.
It was Hardy who initially came up with the idea of making a film about animal poaching, hiring writer Sheldon Turner to work on a script.
The movie, which is currently untitled, will be set in Zimbabwe, Africa, where poachers are close to wiping out the entire elephant and rhino populations. Whilst Hardy is set to play a Special Forces soldier who trains park rangers to fight off bush poachers, it is not yet known whether DiCaprio and Maguire will star in the movie, or just be involved in the production of it, via their production companies Appian Way and Material Pictures.
The second film the trio has been linked to, will follow the demand for endangered animals in China for a range of uses, leading to them being killed and illegally trafficked.
Hardy is said to have gotten on board this second project after discovering DiCaprio and Macguire held the same animal rights interests as him.
