Tom Cruise Prepared To Leave Scientology To Win Back Katie
Tom Cruise is rumoured to be contemplating leaving the Scientology faith, in a last ditch attempt to win back Katie Holmes.
Tom is arguably the Scientology church’s most well-known member. He has helped raise the profile of Scientology since he became associated with it back in 1990, and has gone on to frequently praise the faith, as well as campaign for it to be recognised as a religion across the world.
Despite over twenty years of dedication, reports have emerged claiming that Tom is planning to turn his back on Scientology in a desperate bid to win back ex-wife Katie Holmes.
Katie filed for divorce from Tom earlier this year, moving out of the home she shared with Tom and their 6 year-old daughter Suri, to make a fresh start in New York, taking Suri with her.
It is commonly thought that the main cause of the breakdown of the relationship was the Scientology faith, which Katie wanted to escape from.
Whilst Katie and Suri seem happier than ever with their new found freedom and normality, Tom has reportedly been struggling with the split, causing those close to him to grow concerned.
However, it has now emerged that a close friend of Tom’s believes that the actor may finally be questioning his involvement with Scientology. Speaking to People magazine they said:
“Now he’s lost the most precious thing in his life, he sees that his Scientology beliefs may not have hurt his box office [success] but have ended not one but two marriages. He lost Nicole and now his wife and daughter. He has always used the Scientology techniques but he has now realised they don’t work in marriage.”
Meanwhile worst at work on his latest film, which is being shot in London, the source claims that Tom has taken the opportunity to take step back from the church, whilst cooling off his friendship with Scientology leader David Miscavige.
“Tom and David have been attached at the hip but this relationship has deteriorated and that, along with the loss of Katie and Suri, is forcing his to question his role in the church. He hasn’t lost faith completely but he is blaming Scientology for what has happened.”
