The Olsens Go Back To Their L.A. Roots

On a beautiful L.A. morning, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen quietly opened the doors to The Row’s first ever brick and mortar store on the famed Melrose Place.

“This store is the start of a concept that will grow over time,” Ashley Olsen told exclusively. “We wanted the store to reflect L.A. and the way we approach our brand. It was important to us that we not only sell The Row’s ready-to-wear and accessories, but include furniture, jewelry, and décor from local vendors, as we evolve into a lifestyle brand.”

Lifestyle, indeed, is reflected in the 3,800-square-foot space which is fully equipped with stunning French doors, a 900-square-foot swimming pool, and a mid-century vibe that is oh-so-Olsen. If you’ve ever wondered what goes inside an Olsen’s mind, look no further than the store’s aesthetic.

“The idea was to emulate the look and feel of a mid-century modern home—something that was representative of the history and essence of the location. While the overall design is a combination of both our tastes, it‘s all under the lens of Southern California and what Los Angeles means to us,” Olsen said.

In addition to the brand’s clothing and goods, The Row store will house in-store exclusives, collaborations (like those fabulous flat mules from Italian cobber Enzo Bonafe), fine jewelry from Sidney Garber by Brooke Neidich, a selection of vintage jewelry, and Manolo Blahniks that the designers have always loved.
