Taylor Swift Scoops Up Three Awards At MTV EMAs
Country music star Taylor Swift was the star of the show at last nights MTV EMAs, scooping up three awards at the ceremony, which was held in Frankfurt.
22 year-old Taylor has managed to make Europe fall in love with her crossover country and pop music, proving her critics wrong by winning the award for Best Female and Best Live Act as well as Best Look.
Despite suffering from a sore throat caused by a bout of flu, Taylor was keen not to disappoint fans, pulling off a great performance of her latest chart topping single We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.
Also in attendance at the star studded ceremony, was reality TV star Kim Kardashian and her rapper boyfriend Kanye West, who famously stormed on stage at the MTV VMAs in 2009, interrupting Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech. Luckily for Taylor, this time around Kanye remained firmly seated alongside Kim, whilst she took to the stage to collect her awards.
Closely following Taylor in the award stakes was Canadian pop star Carly Rae Jepsen who took home two awards including Best Song for Call Me Maybe and Best Push. Meanwhile Carly’s mentor Justin Bieber also equaled Taylor’s trio of awards picking up Best World Stage, Best Pop and Best Male. The teen star however did not attend the ceremony.
Despite American acts scooping up most of the awards on the night, it was South Korean pop star Psy who was the main attraction of the evening, not only winning the prestigious Best Video award for Gangnam Style, but also pulling off a show stopping live performance of the track.
