Taylor Swift Considers Quitting Music For Acting Career
International country music star Taylor Swift is rumored to be considering putting her successful music career on hold, in order to pursue her acting dream.
22 year-old Taylor is not only one of the biggest selling musicians of the 21st century, she has also successfully managed to bring country music to a mainstream audience, combining her unique country vocals with catchy pop instrumentals.
It seems however, that Taylor is set to put her music aside after finishing promotional work for her new album Red, as it’s revealed she is favorite to play Canadian singer Joni Mitchell in an upcoming biopic film.
Taylor has already dabbled in some acting most recently lending her voice to an animated character in the Dr Seuss film The Lorax, as well as appearing in romantic comedy Valentine’s Day, alongside her boyfriend at the time, Twilight’s Taylor Lautner.
In a recent interview with Time magazine, Taylor discussed the possibility of staring in the Joni Mitchell film:
“That’s not actually confirmed. I wish I could say it’s confirmed! But the thing about movies that I’ve learned is- I’ve been reading scripts for five years, and you just don’t know what ones are going to get greenlit and which ones aren’t, so I can’t talk about it unless it’s the real thing.”
Whilst Taylor looks forward to pursuing an acting career, she has emphasized that leaving music for a while, would be a careful decision she would need to think about:
“I would love to sign on to do a movie if it was the right role and if it was the right script, because I would be taking time away from music to tell a big grand story and spend all of my time and pouring all of my emotions into being someone else. So for me to do that, it would have to a story worth telling.”
