Scientology Church Alter Rules For Tom Cruise
Tom Cruise is at the centre of claims, that he has received special treatment from Scientology chiefs, after he is allowed to visit daughter Suri.
Since splitting from wife Katie Holmes in June, Tom Cruise is only thought to have visited his 6 year-old daughter Suri a hand-full of times. Whilst in England filming for his new movie, Tom hasn’t seen Suri for several weeks, missing important occasions such as her first day of school.
Claims soon surfaced stating that Tom has not seen Suri, as now she is no longer a member of the Scientology religion, he is forbidden from having contact with her. Tom’s representatives were quick to deny these rumors, insisting he has regular contact with Suri over the telephone whilst working on his new film, and intends to see her when he is back in America.
Scientology chiefs have now been accused of bending the rules of their church for Tom, as normally members are forbidden from having contact with family members who abandon the religion.
Former Scientologist Nancy Many revealed to RadarOnline how rules of the church have been altered for Tom: “They have already bent the rules for Tom. If Tom was any other Scientologist, including lesser celebrities, he would not be allowed to continue seeing and maintaining contact with Katie or Suri, because they are no longer in Scientology.”
Unsurprisingly, the news of this has angered some Scientology members, who feel it’s unfair rules are relaxed for the 50 year-old actor and not for anyone else. Nancy revealed: “So far because of who he is, Cruise has spent time with Suri, which has already upset the parents and children of existing Scientologists who can’t talk to their loved ones.”
Katie and Suri have not only left the Scientology faith, but they have already joined a Catholic Church. If this was a normal case with Scientology members, who continued communication with family who had changed religions, they would be instantly shunned and outcast from the church.
Tom is the most famous Scientology member amongst the general public, his church will want to keep him as a member, and have therefore adjusted their rules to ensure he can remain a Scientologist. This means that he is allowed to see his daughter, whatever religion she chooses to follow.
