Nicki Minaj Declares She is Done With Collaborating With Other Musicians
She may have just worked with teen sensation Justin Bieber on his new track Beauty and the Beat, but Nicki Minaj has now revealed that she is done with collaborating with other artists, and wants to just stick to her own songs in the future.
The Young Money rapper and singer has already raked up a long list of collaborators since emerging as a star, including the likes of: Rihanna, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Drake, Eminem, Mariah Carey and Cassie.
However when questioned by MTV News about who she would love to work with in the future, Nicki surprised many by stating: “I don’t know! I mean, I’m sort of over it now actually.”
Continuing to explain why she feels the need to work on new material on her own, Nicki added: “I’ve had amazing collaborations, God bless everyone that collaborated with me and thank you for the opportunities but I’d say now, I don’t wanna, there is no dream collaboration. I feel like I’ve worked with the dream collaborators already.”
“I’ve worked with just the most iconic people in the world and now, it’s like, you know, now I think it’s more about just creating good music outside of all that collaborating stuff.”
Meanwhile, Nicki didn’t completely rule out working with other musicians, explaining that she may still occasionally lend a rap verse to other artist’s songs, as she not only enjoys adding her unique touch to a track she also loves to see their reaction when they hear her recordings.
