NEW YORK FASHION WEEK STYLE REQUESTS THE QUESTION, ARE WE ONLY LESS FASHIONABLE IN THE WINTER?
Shooting street style of New York Fashion Week Fall 2014, I had my judgments on the clothes around me, in search of trends. Though I spotted sufficiently of outfits that were fashionable while still being suitable for the weather, I could not help but sign that function and fashion were definitely at odds more frequently than not. There was an outstanding alteration between persons hustled up for the wintertime freeze and others who were outfitted completely incorrect for New York cold — those who overlooked the thermometer inclined to look additional put-together.
I found myself questioning, do fashion and icy temperatures actually just not agree? Is this a universal fact you just could not dress as fine in the winter?
Dan Trotter, Managing Director and Co-Founder of Fashion and Design Group (FAD), whichever produces fashion-associated television contented, is one of the fashion insiders who joined New York Fashion Week 2014, says that is not the circumstance at all — wintertime is about affectation different style. Trotter trusts the cold weather releases up more style chances to those in, or fascinated in, the industry.
“New York’s fairly fortunate in a method that you have these exciting temperatures,” he said. “In summertime, you have got this intense 40 degrees Celsius and wintertime today it is at -11 Celsius, and consequently you see that season by season this really does advantage whenever you get to attire great layers. You know persons can be wearing a large overcoat and then they will take this off and all this color comes out.”
The supposed “polar vortex” has conveyed record-breaking cold weather crossways the country this wintertime. Throughout New York Fashion Week, temperatures typically fell between 20 to 30 degrees Fahrenheit.
“Whatever I see now is a boldness of individual style,” said Trotter. “Persons either feel very contented in having an individual style or they sensation that they required to have an individual style to stand out.”
Meanwhile he lives in Sydney, Trotter speaks he is able to see an outstanding difference among New York and his birthplace, where persons dress more informally and there are no separate seasons.
“I actually like that the winter does help us,” he told. “I think this offers designers real freedom to design outfits for all of the times and to generate really great elegances.”
