Mick Jagger Admits One Direction Remind Him Of Young Rolling Stones
Rolling Stones legend Mick Jagger has admitted that British boy band One Direction remind him of the Rolling Stones in their early days, due to the slightly awkward look they have on stage.
Speaking to CNN, Mick explained how the huge success the former X Factor UK contestants have achieved in America, is reminiscent of the Rolling Stone’s rise to worldwide fame in the 1960’s.
Whilst the boy band left the singing competition two years ago, Mick believes that One Direction still look rather uncomfortable when performing to an audience, which is unusual for a pop boy band.
Mick told CNN: “I watched a concert of One Direction on TV the other night, you know, just to check it out. It reminded me very much of our early concerts. When we were pushed around among the audience and we would king of float. They were, like, floating above the audience, and they looked really distinctly uncomfortable. It was a very funny moment because it was very similar to things we’ve been through.”
Clearly, holding a soft spot in his heart for the five piece boy band, Mick revealed he would like to get together with One Direction for a jamming session: “They still want me to come and jam with them. I said ‘Yeah I’ll come and play with you anytime.”
