Mariah Carey Steps Up Security After Receiving Threats From Nicki Minaj
Mariah Carey has reportedly hired extra security guards, following Nicki Minaj issuing her threats on the set of American Idol.
The two new American Idol judges had a huge argument earlier this week, when filming auditions in Charlotte, North Carolina. During the heated row, Nicki bombarded Mariah with insults, which were caught on camera, and released by TMZ.
Since the incident it has emerged that Mariah claimed Nicki threatened to shoot her, however this wasn’t caught on the footage.
42 year-old Mariah contacted The View chat show host Barbara Walters, asking her to read out a statement about what happened on the live show. The statement revealed Mariah and several other crew members heard Nicki say: “If I had a gun I’d shoot the b***h.”
Despite feeling its unlikely Nicki would really try and cause harm to her, Mariah has stepped up her security, as being a mother of two young twins she does not want to take any risks.
Barbara revealed, Mariah is afraid of Nicki’s unpredictable behaviour, and has not received any form of apology from her.
Mariah is adamant she wants to continue with the show, as she feels great helping aspiring musicians reach their dreams, so no doubt more drama will surface from the ongoing feud.
Following Mariah claims, Nicki took to Twitter to defend herself, taking out her anger once more towards Mariah.
Her tweets read: “I don’t call TMZ n Barbara Walters cuz I stand on my own two feet.”
“I guess it hurts 2 have the producers tell u to ur face that Nicki is the best judge we’ve had since Simon. Awww, poor u. Keep them lies cmn.”
“Tried to keep quiet but let’s go”
“I thought we resolved it yesterday but I see u want ur pity party to continue.”
Meanwhile, Mariah remained silent, and dignified, whilst Nicki vented her anger on the social network site.
