Lauren Goodger Admits To Leaving Hit TV Show Due to Weight Insecurities
Lauren Goodger has revealed that she left hit reality TV show The Only Way Is Essex due to her ongoing battle with her weight.
Lauren made her departure from the show, which follows the glamorous lives of young Essex men and women on Wednesday evening, making an emotional goodbye to the show, which has capitulated her to fame.
The star was rumored to have left the TOWIE in a bid to land her own show with her sister’s similar to the Kardashian’s Keeping Up With The Kardashians, however Lauren has since slammed these claims, revealing her insecurities with her fluctuating figure were the main reasons for moving on from the show.
In an interview with the Sunday Mirror newspaper Lauren revealed her struggles with appearing on the show: “I felt under so much pressure. Most of the girls on TOWIE are quite skinny… next to the others, I’d be panicking over whether my arms looked fat or how big I’d look if I was sitting down. I’d even beg producers to let me sit at a table so I could hide my legs underneath.”
Lauren has over 1 million twitter followers and was by far the leading lady on TOWIE. Unlike the other women on the show, the size 12 UK star had a natural curvy figure, steering away from any plastic surgery enhancements. The UK public fell in love with Lauren’s honesty and followed her journey of love and heartbreak with former star Mark Wright as it unfolded on the show.
Lauren now joins the likes of former cast members Mark Wright, Amy Childs and Kirk Norcross, who have all left the show to move on to different projects. Lauren is already in demand to appear on ice skating reality show Dancing On Ice and the jungle show I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. Meanwhile Lauren explains she is looking to work on expanding her beauty line and salon Lauren’s Way and looks forward to possible ventures that are set to come her way.
