Katherine Heigl comes in a ‘Romantic drama’ this time!
What can be more interesting than to know that Katherine Heigl would be the one now to show up in romantic dramas! News has it that director from the famous ‘The Sessions’, Ben Lewin is now going to come up directing a Korean based romantic drama, ‘A Moment to Remember’ where Katherine would be among the leads.
Among the producers and financers, would be Scott Pictures pairing with Sobini Films. Also, Film 360 would be among the producers. The film is said to be sold in Berlin by Scott Pictures in 2013.
Based on a Japanese TV series known as ‘Pure Soul’ that had been broadcast on Yomiuri TV, the story revolves around a fashion designer who, owing to some disease loses her memory and her husband, is frantic to get help her recall at least some memories of their past love.
Pure soul, in 2004, had been successful to the extent to being turned into a Korean movie of which the producers were CJ Entertainment and Sidus FNH Corporation. Sobini had also came up with the idea of having an English remake of it but then things got a new turn and the idea dropped off.
Among the producers, would be Scott Steindorff, Mark Amin and Cami Winikoff, as well as Scott Lambert from Film360 who is known to have recently produced Hope Springs wherein Meryl Streep was in the leads and is expected to come up with Paranoia in October wherein Harrison Ford and Liam Hemsworth would be starred.
Miky Lee, David Higgins and Judi Levine from CJ Entertainment, Scott LaStaiti, Peter Fruchtman and Dylan Russell from Scott Pictures will be the executive producers. It’s said that the production may get to start late in spring. It has come out that CAA would be the one to rep distribution rights.
Lewin had been directing and writing Sessions, where Helen Hunt, the lead, got nominated in the best supporting category at the Oscar. Also, Helen got BAFTA and an Indie Spirit nomination. After Paperback Romance, Sessions was Lewins’ first mark and that too, a successful one. Michael Lewis and Associates would be the one to rep Lewin.
Talking about Heigl, who starred in ‘One for the Money’ is now to come up with The Big Wedding, where she shows up beside Robert De Niro and Diane Keaton.
