Kate Middleton avoiding yet more embarrassment…

The Queen has been using this secret for years, and now Kate Middleton is set to follow in Her Majesty’s footsteps. To avoid embarrassment and unsavoury scandal, designer Jenny Packham plans to add weights to the hemlines of her dresses, an idea which we love!

The Duchess had a little bit of Marilyn Monroe moment when she was caught out on the runway at Calgary airport during a royal tour of Canada last year when the canary yellow dress she designed for Kate blew up and exposed the entirety of her legs. Royal scandal, one thinks!

Despite the fact that the Duchess has a great pair of legs, she wants to be remembered as a Jackie O type style icon rather than a Marilyn, and Kate’s favourite designer Jenny Packham isn’t going to let an angry breeze let the Duchess struggle to retain her dignity again…

The fashion designer revealed in an interview last night that she received a concerned letter from a Kate fan expressing annoyance at the wardrobe malfunction.

She said: ”I had a little handwritten letter from a lady in Wisconsin passionately criticising me for the primrose yellow shift dress I made for the duchess. She said didn’t I know about putting weights around the bottom of a hem so it can’t blow up? Well, I didn’t know it was going to be worn on a windy runway – but I did think maybe in future I will put in more weighting, just in case…”

Kate has suffered scrutiny in recent weeks and it appears her luck is changing after topless photos were published in the French magazine of ‘Closer’ this month, as well as being caught up in a row about her pink tiered dress she wore in the Soloman Islands which was in fact made by Cook Islands…

So Jenny Packham has come in quickly to make sure that Kate doesn’t face any more negative press that can easily be avoided, using some handy weights!
