Jessica Simpson Confronts Her Battle To Shed Baby Weight
It is no secret that Jessica Simpson has been struggling to bounce back to her pre-pregnancy figure after giving birth to daughter Maxwell Drew in May, but for the first time the star has discussed her much talked about figure.
Unlike most other female celebrities who have a baby and bounce back to their slim figures within just a few weeks through extreme exercise and diet regimes, Jessica is taking slower more healthy steps to regain her previous figure.
Whilst pregnant with her first child, Jessica famously carried a huge baby bump from relatively early on the in pregnancy, whilst also gaining several pounds elsewhere on her body.
For the first time in an interview with USA Today Jessica has revealed why she ballooned so much during her pregnancy: “I let myself indulge in everything I wanted because it was the first time I was ever pregnant, and I wanted to enjoy it.” She went on to confess over indulging in her favourite meal of macaroni cheese whilst pregnant, revealing she was unaware of the negative impact it would have once she had given birth: “I didn’t realise the weight didn’t all come off with the baby.”
Jessica went on to reveal that she has since given up fatty comfort foods, in an attempt to regain her former slim image, whilst signing up to a Weight Watcher’s programme, which she is due to be a spokesperson for when their new campaign starts.
Despite seeming to make slow progress in terms of her weight loss Jessica explained how she does see weekly results. Personal trainer Harley Pasternak had been drafted in by Jessica to help her compose a fitness regime, which at the moment mainly consists of power walking workouts, as her breasts are currently too large for her to run comfortably.
Jessica speaking out about her battle with her weight is sure to comfort other new mothers, who so often see high profile women issuing unrealistic weight goals. Jessica went on to emphasise how she has realistic targets in mind: “My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel. I’m just your everyday women who is trying to feel good and be healthy for her daughter, her fiancÈ and herself.”
