James McAvoy – There’s nothing quite like a Brit-flick!
Actor and pin-up James McAvoy has said that his new thriller does not feel like anything like a British movie – so what’s the problem?
The actor stars in London-based movie ‘Welcome To The Punch’, the second film by British writer/director Eran Creevy.
However, the ‘Wanted’ star James told Empire magazine: “The script didn’t feel like it had the humility and humbleness of a British film Don’t get me wrong – I love British film and I love gritty, British drama. But we’re not trying to go, ‘This is the real world.’ We’re going, ‘Here’s a… rip-roaring, really emotionally powerful piece of entertainment,’ you know?”
Yes…very clearly put James.
James plays troubled Detective Max Lewinsky in the film, due out next year, which also stars famous faces such as Mark Strong.
The director told the press that James was very prepared to make his character unlikeable.
“A lot of actors would say, ‘I can’t be seen doing this!’ James is like, ‘I’ll do that. I want him to be arrogant and pig-headed and bitter’,” he said.
