It’s All Over for Perry and Mayer

It’s all over for our favourite California girl Katy Perry and singer/songwriter John Mayer, after the pair reportedly dated for just two months, and fans are not happy. Word is that the singer is ‘really upset’ about the split, even though the two stars never acknowledged rumours of their relationship in public. The pair has been pictured out and about with each other on several occasions over the past month or so.

The pair was recently spotted attending dinner at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, as well as going to a mutual friend’s birthday party in Hollywood. However, the pair are recently said to have parted ways. A source has stated that ‘they’ll stay friends’, though…so hopefully all is not lost.

“They’ll end up as friends. They were honestly just having fun,” a source told the press this week. “People made to out to be far more than it was.” However, like any young female out there going through a break-up, it’s surely going to have a bit of an effect on the superstar? “She’s really upset about it, she’s making it seem like it wasn’t serious with John, but she is hurt” said the source.

Maybe it was all for the best though, as another US magazine has even claimed over the past week that John was using the lovely Katy Perry to ‘get closer’ to starlet Rihanna. “They really hit it off – John was smitten. He tried to lure her back to his place on several occasions, but Rihanna just laughed him off, saying she wasn’t his type. That only made him want her more. Rihanna has always been a fantasy chick for John”

The same source went on to explain that Mayer apparently tried again to get a date with Rihanna as early as last year and that only after she turned him down did he allow his attention to drift to Katy Perry. We all hope she’s not headed for heartache!
