“Irreplaceable” Randy Jackson to Judge American Idol – Season 12
Speculation, curiosity, negotiations and then some more, but finally season 12 of the immensely popular reality singing show, American Idol will feature the “Yo What’s Up Man” Randy Jackson as one of the judges. Randy was out of the reckoning initially and rumors were rife that singer Enrique Iglesias would be roped in. It is reported that negotiations failed with Iglesias and Randy was given the thumbs up.
Ryan Seacrest, let the cat out of the bag when he posted a photograph of all the judges on twitter. The new judges are Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and the irreplaceable Randy Jackson. The punch went out of the show during the last two season when the in your face producer and judge Simon Cowell decided to quit judging the show.
During his farewell show of American Idol, Fuller seemed laid back and quite frankly bored. The fans of this show loved the sarcastic and at times rude remarks of Fuller, but his very personae added to the TRP of American Idol.
In contrast Randy Jackson’s almost apologetic remarks like “Dawg….man, I didn’t feel you,” connected with the audience and gave the contestant some semblance of respectability. Fox went on record and released an official statement admitting that Randy Jackson was the “heart and soul of American Idol.”
The Oomph factor this season will be Mariah Carey. The other new entrants as judges, country singer Keith Urban and rapper Nicki Minaj have been signed at $12 million; Carey has reportedly signed an $18 million contract. Randy’s contract fees have not yet been disclosed.
