Idris Elba Tipped To Be The Next James Bond
British actor Idris Elba has been tipped by many to be the man to replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond.
Whilst Daniel Craig’s performance in the latest 007 movie Skyfall, which is released in cinemas worldwide today, has been highly praised, the question which seems to be on everyone’s lips are who could replace him as the next Bond.
Skyfall is Craig’s third time appearing as James Bond, with many speculating it will be his last.
When questioned about who she thinks would make a great Bond, Naomi Harris, who play Bond girl Eve, in Skyfall revealed to the Huffington Post, that producers have been talking to Idris Elba about the role:
“I did a film with Idris and he said that he met Barbara Broccoli (Skyfall producer)… it does seem like there is a possibility in the future that there could very well be a black James Bond.”
Harris went on to admit that she feels Idris would be great as Bond:
“I would have to vote for Idris because I just finished working with him and he’s a great guy.”
Meanwhile, Elba himself has recently revealed that he would love to take over from Craig in future Bond films. Elba told US radio station NPR:
“If Sony decided to call me and said hey, we wanted to do (James Bond), I’d definitely consider it. I’d not only get in the cab, but id’ take the taxi driver out of the car hostage, jump out while it was moving, jump onto a pedal bile that was just past the door as I got on it, and then get onto a plane- on the wing- and land on top of Sony Studios, slide through the air conditioning, and land in the office. I’m never shaken or stirred.”
