How to make your own shaving cream at home.

Think about it: in the beginning of time, when there were no commercial shaving creams to choose from, men had to devise their own methods, and make their own shaving creams for removing facial hair. Today, there are a variety of shaving creams available on the market to choose from. Shaving creams now target the female population, as well as the male population, of course.

Whether you need to use shaving cream on your face, your legs, or your underarms, you can make your own shaving cream right there at home. In this article, you will find several different recipes for homemade shaving cream. Simply choose the one that works best for you, and you’ll never buy another can of shaving cream again!

Note: For the best results when you are shaving your face, legs, or underarms, always use a clean, sharp razor. A dull razor can leave stubbles. It can also irritate your skin.

Whatever your skin type is, you will need to make up a gentle shaving cream to use – one that doesn’t irritate your face, or make it turn red and bumpy. This first recipe fits the bill in that it is gentle… gentle enough for even a baby’s skin! Mix together a bottle of “no tears” baby shampoo with an eighth of a cup of baby oil. The baby oil will help to make your skin smooth and soft and moisturized. To use, pour out a small dab of the solution into your hand. Add a little warm water and work it up to a lather. Apply and shave as usual.

You can also use a bottle of cocoa butter liquid hand soap in place of the “no tears” baby shampoo to make your own shaving cream. Cocoa butter not only smells good, but it will help to make your skin feel smooth and soft.

The ingredients for the second mixture are as follows: one half cup of IVORY or DOVE brand soap, grated; two thirds of a cup of boiling water, two tablespoons of cocoa butter, and three tablespoons of baby oil. Make this shaving cream by placing the IVORY soap and the boiling water into a large coffee mug. Stir occasionally. Let it set for a few minutes while the soap softens. When the soap is thoroughly dissolved, stir in the cocoa butter and the baby oil; mix well. Let the mixture cool and harden, then use with a shaving brush. Or, you can simply take a small dab of the mixture out of the mug every time you want to shave. Mix it with a little warm water and work it up to a lather. Apply and shave as usual.

The ingredients for the next mixture are three tablespoons of hand lotion with aloe Vera in it, and a bottle of gentle liquid soap. Mix these together well. To use, pour out a small dab of the solution into your hand. Add a little warm water and work it up to a lather. Apply and shave as usual. The hand lotion is a great moisturizer, while the aloe Vera is a natural skin healer.

The fourth mixture uses a different type of oil as its moisturizer. The ingredients are: two tablespoons of olive oil, 1 cup of boiling water, and two tablespoons of IVORY or DOVE brand soap, grated. Make your own shaving cream by placing the IVORY or DOVE brand soap and the boiling water into a shaving mug. Stir occasionally. Let it set for a few minutes while the soap softens. When the soap is thoroughly dissolved, stir in the olive oil; mix well. Let the mixture cool and harden, then use with a shaving brush. Or, you can simply take a small dab of the mixture out of the mug every time you want to shave. Mix it with a little warm water and work it up to a lather. Apply and shave as usual.
