Hilary Duff Defends Her Baby Weight
Hilary Duff has spoken out about her difficulty losing weight since giving birth, defending her slow approach to regaining her former figure.
Despite the current trend of celebrities slimming down to their pre-pregnancy weight within a couple of weeks of giving birth, former Disney star Hilary Duff’s more slow and healthy approach to losing her baby weight has been well documented.
In a new interview with Parents.com Hilary Duff has admitted that she has found her weight loss tough, reassuring regular new and expectant mothers that images they see of celebrities bouncing back to their size zero figures are not natural.
25 year-old Hilary joked: “There are some women who look the same right after – I think they are freaks of nature! I don’t know how that happens. I’m not one of those people.”
Whilst Hilary has worked hard to live a healthy lifestyle since giving birth to her baby boy Luca in March, including eating a balanced diet and going to the gym several times a week, Hilary explains she is still working towards regaining her former figure: “It takes your body nine months to get there, really ten months. So I’m trying to be patient but I’m working hard. I think now more than ever, I appreciate my body and what it’s done for me.”
Despite being happy with her natural and healthy approach to losing weight, Hilary admitted that being in the media spotlight does put pressure on her to look good: “I mean there are photographers following me every day, so you feel the pressure because of what people write about you. Not that they’re personal attacks, but obviously, when you see “Hilary Debuts Post-Baby Body!” you want to tell people, “No, actually, I was just going out to get a coffee.”
