Folk Singer Accuses Taylor Swift Of Stealing Song Lyrics
Folk singer Matt Nathanson has controversially accused country music star Taylor Swift of stealing lyrics from his songs, for her new album Red.
The established US folk singer, made claims on Twitter, that 22 year-old Taylor, who is just as well loved for her songwriting skills as her voice, lifted lyrics from some of his songs, for her new album.
The 39 year-old who Taylor is known to be a huge fan of, took to Twitter to suggest Taylor’s songs may not be as original as perceived, insinuating she stole his song lyrics. The tweet, which Matt posted but later deleted, stated: “She’s definitely a fan… and now she’s a thief.”
Unsurprisingly Taylor’s loyal fans were keen to stick up for her, bombarding Matt with abusive comments, following his claims on Twitter.
Matt however, isn’t the only person to have noticed the similarity between Taylor’s sing All Too Well and the track he released in 2003 called I Saw.
Blog site Oh No They Didn’t! also commented on how Taylor’s lyrics: “and I forget about you long enough to forget why I needed to”, were clearly stolen from Matt’s I Saw lyrics which go: “and I’ll forget about you long enough to forget why I need to.”
