Emma Watson Talks Shedding Her Good Girl Image
In an interview with the BBC, Harry Potter actress Emma Watson has revealed she feels she will never shake off the image of good-girl Hermione.
The actress admitted that she feels she will always be predominantly remembered as the girl who played teachers pet Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film franchise, and will always be associated with a good-girl image.
Since finishing the Harry Potter films, Emma has been keen to test herself with different film roles, however the actress has revealed that she is not bothered by people still thinking of her as Hermione: “I am not here to be frustrate about the fact that people still love Hermione. People ate always going to love those books.”
Emma however went on to say that whilst she does not mind being labeled with this image, she does hope that her future work will be judged fairly: “I just hope that they’ll be open-minded and generous enough to see a different side and let me reincarnate myself. Re-branding my image is going to be a fluid thing that happens, I can’t force anyone to perceive me any differently. I just hope my performances will speak for themselves and the movie choices I take on will have their own weight.”
Meanwhile 22 year-old Emma is currently promoting her latest role in the indie film The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, which follows of group of outcast high school students, who form friendships with each other whilst trying to discover themselves.
