Emma Watson Discuses The Dangers Of Hollywood
Squeaky-clean Harry Potter star Emma Watson has spoken out about the possible dangers that come with living a Hollywood lifestyle.
22 year-old Emma, shot to fame aged just nine when she secured the part of playing teacher’s pet Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series. Unlike other young stars Emma appears to have dealt well with receiving worldwide fame at such a young age, appearing grounded and dedicated to working hard. Last year for instance, rather than attending wild showbiz parties, Emma decided to continue her education by enrolling at Brown University, whilst continuing acting projects.
In an exclusive interview with Glamour magazine Emma revealed how the dangers of being a young actress in Hollywood are intense. She explained how had she chosen to, she could have easily been mislead down a dark path of drink and drugs: “I started travelling and working away from home when I was nine, and there would have been so many opportunities there id I’d wanted to take them. If I’d wanted to get blind raving drunk I could have done if I wanted to do drugs I could have done. Luckily I don’t have an addictive personality, and I don’t really drink.”
Sensible Emma, is however keen to shake off her wholesome image when it comes to acting projects, looking for more mature and challenging roles. Her upcoming appearance in The Perks Of Being A Wallflower does exactly this, with Emma playing a wild-natured high school girl who does burlesque dancing. Emma is also being tipped to play the lead character in the film adaptation of racy S&M novel 50 Shades Of Grey.
