Drake Announces Joy Of Graduating High School At 25
Young Money star Drake yesterday revealed his excitement to fans on Twitter at finally graduating from high school aged 25.
The rapper and singer left high school ten years ago aged just 15, when he landed the role of playing a disabled former basketball star on Canadian TV show Degrassi: The Next Generation.
Whilst Drake worked on TV to help support his sick mother, he was unable to finish his high school education, which meant he never graduated.
After several years of hard work transitioning from an actor to a musician, Drake is now one of the world’s biggest hip-hop stars, selling over 5 million albums worldwide last year.
Off the back of his latest tour, which took in more than $42million, down-to-earth Drake decided to finally study to get his diploma.
Revealing the news that he had graduated Drake was eager to tweet: “One of the greatest feeling in my entire life. As of tonight I have graduated high school!”
He soon went on to add just how well he had done: “97 per cent on my final exam. 88 per cent in the course” before thanking his teacher: “Thank you to my teacher Kim Kanzen for spending the last 5 months working tirelessly with me!! OVO SOUND.”
Drake is now set to focus his attentions on
making the final preparations to his upcoming new album, after completing his studies.
