Dominic Cooper Lands Role As James Bond Creator Ian Fleming
British actor Dominic Cooper has a lot to celebrate after not only just landing the role of racing car driver in the film adaptation of computer game Need For Speed, he is also set to star as James Bond creator Ian Fleming, in a biopic TV series.
Dominic has been hot property in Hollywood since starring in the 2008 hit musical film Mamma Mia alongside Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried and Pierce Brosnan.
34 year-old Dominic will play an ex-NASCAR driver in the action-packed adaptation of the video game franchise, staring alongside fellow British actress Imogen Poots, and Breaking Bad actor Aaron Paul, who will play the lead character, an underground racing driver.
Unlike the more down market racing car movie franchise Fast and the Furious, Need For Speed is predicted to follow in the footsteps of the critically acclaimed racing film Drive, due to the packed cast of highly acclaimed actors.
Meanwhile, Dominic will also be gracing TV screens, playing Ian Fleming, creator of the iconic James Bond character, in an ITV1 four-part drama.
The news that Dominic is going to play Fleming, does likely take him out of the ruling of British actors tipped to replace Daniel Craig in the role of 007, when he decides to leave the popular film franchise, further suggesting Idris Elba, may well secure the role, becoming the first black Bond in the 50 year history of the James Bond films.
