Director Adam McKay Discuses Anchorman Sequel
Film director Adam McKay has discussed working on the sequel to the hit comedy film Anchorman with The Playlist, whilst also revealing the movie will feature a musical sequence.
McKay is not only directing the hotly anticipated Anchorman 2 film, he is also co-writing the script, which he promises will be funnier than the original.
Anchorman star Will Ferrell has already been confirmed to be making a return to the movie as San Diego newscaster Ron Burgundy.
Speaking to The Playlist, McKay revealed his plans to get the cast of Anchorman 2 involved in a singing and dancing sequence, like he has previously done in other films he has worked on. McKay said: “The music sequences we have done- we did Afternoon Delight in Anchorman, Sweet Child O Mine in Step Brothers, we did a whole song for Talladega Nights that got cut out, a big, big musical number- we always do it live on the set.”
Meanwhile, filming for the movie, which is due to be released next year, is expected to commence shortly. As well as the return of Will Ferrell, former Anchorman cast members: Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner and Christina Applegate have all also signed up for the sequel.
