Covering the Red Carpet at the Golden Globes
A Golden Globe is an award presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association to recognize excellence in film and television. The Golden Globe Award is an accolade bestowed by the 93 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) recognizing excellence in film and television, both domestic and foreign. The annual formal ceremony and dinner at which the awards are presented is a major part of the film industry’s awards season, which culminates each year with the Academy Awards.
The 1st Golden Globe Awards were held in January 1944 at the 20th Century Fox studios in Los Angeles. The 70th Golden Globe Awards, honoring the best in film and television for 2012, were presented on January 13, 2013, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, where they have been held annually since 1961.
The Highlights of 2013 Golden Globe Red Carpet
The Golden Globes boasted some red-hot arrivals to kick off the Hollywood awards season even as the fashion talk among top movie and TV stars was largely about a remarkably chilly night. Heat lamps warmed up the 50 degree-red carpet, a chilly night for Los Angeles.
It was a sea of reds, whites, nudes and blacks at the Golden Globes Sunday night – one of the glitziest, celebrity-crazed, couture-driven evenings of the year. Below, we detail who wore what on the 70th Golden Globes red carpet – also the first ever to feature heating lamps.
Picture 31: Julianne Hough in white dress, she is absolutely stunning and elegant and suits her flawlessly.
Picture 33: Carly Steel in white too! The dress is nice and she carries it well, structured, yet tissue-thin Givenchy felt just right at this soft-pink red carpet.
Picture 34: Wow! Black dress, Katharine McPhee is adding sparkle to anything but somehow it felt like it misses the element of elegance in it.
Picture 35: Oh! Sarah Hyland in black dress, but it’s just okay. In fact I do not like the design she’s wearing.
Picture 40: Mellissa Rauch is looking nice the red outfit. Suits her well!
Picture 42: Well, I hate the color and the design too. TV Star Nicole Riche is looking ugly. In fact, so disappointing!
Picture 44: OMG! Debra Messing looks beautiful in pretty black dress. I love the flair of the dress. Black actually compliments the Red Carpet.
Picture 46: I am so surprised by the dress colors on the Red Carpet this year.Again white…Lots of whites and blacks. Francesca Eastwood is wearing off- white and no doubt she is looking nice.
Picture 47: Shawn Robinson in Emerald Green, that’s my favorite color and it’s been on the top of list when it comes to fashion magazines, blogs, everywhere! She is looking good. Design of the dress is not too classy but overall not bad.
Picture 49: Well Brooke Anderson is looking absolutely fabulous and elegant. I like the way she carries the dress, and LOVE her pretty rosy smile!
