Bryan Singer Announced As Director Of X-Men: Days Of Future Past
Hollywood film director Bryan Singer has been confirmed as the man to take over from Matthew Vaughn, as director of the next X-Men film, X-Men: Days of Future.
It was revealed last week that Vaughn had suddenly dropped out of the upcoming movie, leaving Singer who was initially due to work as the movies producer, to quickly stand in and take his place, signing a directorial deal with 20th Century Fox.
Singer does have plenty of experience working on the X-Men franchise, as he actually directed the first two movies, as well as helping Vaughn with the script for the prequel movie X-Men: First Class.
It is thought that Vaughn who has a reputation of being picky with what film projects he works on, will still have some involvement in the film, however, this time around it will be working as co-producer.
Vaughn recently turned down the opportunity to direct a sequel to his highly successful film Kick-Ass, instead allowing Jeff Wadlow to take up the role of director.
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that previous X-Men: First Class cast members: Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Kevin Bacon, January Jones and Nicholas Hoult, will all make a return to the new movie, which is due begin filming in January 2013, with a scheduled release date of July 2014.
