Beyonce And Jay-Z Fail To Trademark Daughter’s Name “Blue Ivy”
It has been reported that music’s hottest couple Beyonce and Jay-Z, have lost their recent court battle to trademark their daughter Blue Ivy’s name, proving money can’t buy everything.
The famous couple who welcomed the birth of their daughter Blue Ivy in January, bizarrely applied to the courts to trademark her name earlier this year, hoping to protect Blue Ivy, and her name being used by people hoping to cash on it.
According to MyFoxBoston.com a US judge quickly rejected Beyonce and Jay-Z’s request, as a party planning company in Boston, already goes by the name Blue Ivy Events. As the company has already established itself, having built their successful business with the name since 2009, it would be unfair for them if they had to change their name.
The news that the requested trademark has failed is said to have halted the couple’s plans to launch their own children’s fashion label with the name Blue Ivy.
Despite the set back, rumors suggest that Beyonce and Jay-Z are now looking to privately pay-off the party planning business, to change their name, in order from them to re-apply for the trademark.
In terms of the couple’s combined wealth, a small payout to the company would be nothing, and well worth the potential money they can earn from launching a clothing range, in honor of their daughter.
