Anna Wintour Tells Fashion World To Snub Ann Romney
Anna Wintour is reported to have told fashion designers to snub Ann Romney, as the US presidency race heats up.
The Vogue editor-in-chief is a firm supporter of Barack Obama, and a self-confessed fan of the first lady Michelle Obama’s fashion style. Over the last year, Anna was recorded to be one of Obama’s leading financiers, helping to raise over half a million dollars towards his presidency campaign.
Michelle has become somewhat of a style icon across the world since she moved into the White House, causing a host of top designers to fight each other to dress her with their designs during the current presidency race between Barack and Republican leader Mitt Romney.
Meanwhile designers seem to be reluctant to dress Mitt’s wife, 63 year-old Anne Romney, causing many to speculate that Anna Wintour, is silently warning designers that if they dress her, they can count on being shunned from her magazine pages.
Fashionista explained that whilst the media is sent frequent press releases about Michelle’s campaign wardrobe, they have yet to receive any press releases about Anne’s outfits.
When Anne recently wore an Oscar de la Renta dress to the Republican National Convention, the designer’s press team, chose not to issue a release announcing Anne was in their clothes, which is extremely unusual. Press teams for designers Tracey Reese and Thom Browne, on the other hand were quick to tell the media that Michelle was in their designs at Obama’s Democratic National Convention.
