American Idol Producers Speak Out About Diva Feud
American Idol producers have released a statement following the much talked about ongoing feud between new judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj.
The producers have spoken out, after the feud between the two stars reached fever pitch, with Mariah accusing Nicki of threatening to shoot her whilst on set of the show.
The statement, which was released last night, praises the four judges, whilst avoiding any direct reference to the video released by TMZ, which shows Nicki shouting and swearing at Mariah, as well as the accusations Mariah has made.
The producers said: “This is one of the best, most passionate dynamic and invested judging panels we’ve ever had. We love and support all of the judges and he fantastic work they are doing, and we can’t imagine a better group to find the next American Idol.”
From the statement it is unclear whether the producers have taken any action into investigating Nicki’s alleged violent threat, or held a mediation meeting with the two females.
At first it was rumored that either Nicki or Mariah were in talks of leaving the show, as producers were afraid their dislike of each other would hinder filming of the show, however from the producer’s statement this seems highly unlikely.
Meanwhile some fans of the two stars have questioned whether the feud is genuine, or whether it is all a ploy by American Idol producers to bump the shows’ ratings, to compete with rival singing talent shows The X Factor USA and The Voice.
