Amanda Bynes Prepares For Jail Following Hit & Run Charges
Amanda Bynes looks set to spend up to a year in jail following being charged with two misdemeanor hit and run accidents.
Child star Amanda was charged with the two counts of hit and run yesterday afternoon, if she goes on to be convicted of the offences it is likely she will spend up to a year behind bars, with each crime holding a maximum sentence of 6-months.
26 year-old Amanda rose to fame as the child star of several Nickelodeon TV shows including All That, Figure It Out and her own comedy sketch show The Amanda Show. She then made the transition to films appearing as the lead in popular teen titles such as What A Girl Wants, She’s The Man and Hairspray.
As so many child stars so often do, Amanda appears to have struggled with growing up in front of the spotlight, going from a young actress with huge potential to the latest celebrity to fall victim of the dangerous young Hollywood party scene.
The first of the hit and run incidents Amanda was involved in is thought to have occurred in April, with the second incident occurring just last month. On top of these Amanda has been in trouble with the police on several other occasions this year, getting arrested with a DUI and sent to jail for a day after side-hitting a police car earlier this year, as well as being stopped by the police for using a cell phone whilst at the wheel.
Whilst Amanda awaits another court hearing later this month for the fate of her hit and run charges, it has emerged that she has had her driver’s license suspended, which will come as welcome news for those concerned about the troubled star.
